Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) has announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors, with Yoram Dvash taking on the role of Chairman.

Dvash brings extensive international experience in the global diamond industry to the position and is expected to work closely with ODC's management, the newly appointed Board and the Government of Botswana to strengthen the company's profitability and expand its presence in international markets.

According to ODC, the new leadership will focus on creating greater long-term value for Botswana while strengthening the company's position within the global diamond industry.

The company said Dvash's experience will support its efforts to expand its global reach and identify opportunities for sustainable growth as the diamond sector navigates a changing international market.

ODC also expressed its appreciation to Hon. Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, Minister of Minerals and Energy of Botswana, for her continued leadership, support and confidence in the company.

The board transition comes at an important time for Botswana's diamond sector, with the country continuing to focus on maximising the economic value generated from its natural resources and strengthening its role across the global diamond value chain.

The appointment marks a new chapter for Okavango Diamond Company as it looks to build on its position as Botswana's rough diamond marketing company and pursue greater growth and international market reach under its new board leadership.
