The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and Damas Jewellery celebrated the success of their Hand of Gold initiative at an exclusive event in Dubai, reinforcing the strong partnership between Italian jewellery craftsmanship and the Middle East's luxury market. The initiative showcases the enduring appeal of Made in Italy while highlighting the growing demand for Italian jewellery across the UAE.
The programme brings together Italian creativity, innovation and artisanal excellence with regional influences, demonstrating how the two cultures continue to inspire one another. Guests explored a curated selection of Damas collections, including Stella d'Oro, Amelia, Asala, Prisma, Farfasha and Moda, alongside creations from renowned Italian jewellery houses Roberto Coin and FOPE.
Italy's jewellery sector continues to perform strongly in the UAE. Italian exports to the country reached EUR 1.36 billion in 2025, representing a 12.6% year-on-year increase. During the first quarter of 2026, exports totalled EUR 231.3 million, with Italy's market share rising to 7.85%, reflecting sustained confidence in Italian-made luxury products.
The event was attended by Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, Valerio Soldani, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE and Oman, and senior executives from Damas Jewellery. Speakers emphasised the importance of strengthening commercial and cultural ties while expanding opportunities for Italian brands in one of the region's most sophisticated luxury markets.
Damas CEO Ananthanarayanan Hariharan noted that the company's long-standing partnerships with Italian brands Roberto Coin and FOPE have influenced several of its signature collections. He added that combining Italian artistry with regional inspiration enables Damas to create jewellery that resonates with customers while celebrating heritage, innovation and exceptional craftsmanship.
