All of the above-mentioned sessions will be conducted in English with AI-powered Mandarin captions.

On Saturday, 21 June, the “Taobao Global Conference: Online-Offline Integrated Strategy to Achieve Growth in the Jewellery Market” will be held from 2pm to 5pm. Taotian Group’s Ling Yin and Shu Ta will lead this session, which will be conducted in Mandarin.

Spotlight Features

Moreover, three unique attractions enhance the JGA experience, namely, the Orient Odyssey 2.0 (OO 2.0) pearl exhibit (Stand 3M260) supported by Platinum sponsors Autore, Hong Kong Edison Pearl Co Ltd, Jewelmer, Paspaley Pearling Company and Rio Pearl; a dedicated Gold Jewellery Pavilion and the announcement of the Sustainability Awards 2025 by JWA (Jewellery World Awards) finalists.

Following its debut at JGW last September, Orient Odyssey is once again dropping anchor at JGA to celebrate the “Queen of Gems.” This rebooted project – OO 2.0 by Informa’s Jewellery & Gem Knowledge Community (J&G Knowledge Community) – traces the pearl’s journey from mollusc to haute joaillerie, enhanced by interactive experiences. Visitors may enjoy expert demonstrations of pearl extraction from oysters and mussels, alongside scheduled pearl-facetting sessions by award-winning lapidarist Kazuhito Komatsu of the Komatsu Cutting Factory. Kazuhito is showcasing “Hanashinju” (Japanese for “gorgeous pearl”) – the facetted “Flower Pearl” invented in 1992 by his father, master diamond cutter Kazuo Komatsu.

The exhibition likewise transcends gem appreciation through its freshwater pearl jewellery Charity Sale, orchestrated in partnership with returning sponsors Hong Kong Edison Pearl, Heng Mei Group and Yee On Pearls & Jewellery Company. All net proceeds directly support water and sanitation initiatives across Asia through “A Drop of Life,” a Hong Kong-based NGO. In 2024, Informa’s fundraising generated HK$100,000 for the charity, funding 14 projects in Cambodia that directly benefited 135 residents in Siem Reap Province.

The Gold Jewellery Pavilion presents innovative trends and technological advances in gold jewellery design and manufacturing, demonstrating the metal’s boundless creative potential. This destination likewise serves as a teaser to two curated zones at September’s Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW): Sublime Shine – a J&G Knowledge Community exhibit highlighting gold, platinum, silver and other jewellery metals with support from the World Gold Council (WGC) and Platinum Guild International – and an expanded Gold Jewellery section featuring WGC’s inaugural pavilion.

Reflecting the industry’s increasing commitment to sustainable business practices, the highly anticipated Sustainability Awards 2025 by JWA will announce its finalists today at a Media Gathering. The winners will be revealed in July and honoured during the JGW Fair Reception on 17 September at the HKCEC.
