GEM DIAMONDS ANNOUCES THE OPENING OF GHAGHOO MINE IN BOTSWANA

Gem Diamonds Limited (LSE: GEMD) is pleased to announce the opening of the Ghaghoo diamond mine in Botswana, which will be the first underground diamond mine in the country. This is a significant milestone for Gem Diamonds as the Company looks forward to operating its second major producing diamond mine, in addition to the Letšeng mine in Lesotho. Gem Diamonds is hosting an opening ceremony at the mine. The President of Botswana, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, will be attending the event and officially opening the mine.

The Ghaghoo diamond mine, will be the first underground diamond mine in Botswana. Botswana is the world’s leading diamond producer and home to some of the largest, most profitable diamond mines, making this an ideal country for Gem Diamonds to operate in. More

Antwerp Diamond Pavilion expands at the HK International Jewellery Show in September

From 15 September to 19 September, AWDC will again participate at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show. The Antwerp Diamond Pavilion at this fair keeps expanding every year. With three additional companies coming on board, no less than 99 Antwerp diamond companies will be exhibiting their goods.

The Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair in September is by far the largest show of its kind in Asia and beyond. With over 3,600 exhibitors from 48 countries, over 52,000 buyers from around the world & 135,000 square meters of exhibition space, it’s the biggest trade fair for gem & jewelry industry in the world. As it’s definitely a must attend event for Antwerp diamond companies, AWDC traditionally sets up a large pavilion at Hong Kong September show. Thai Government waives the regular 20% import duty for the Bangkok Fair

The 54th edition of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair will be running five full days, Tuesday 9th to Saturday 13rd September, 2014, at the Impact Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for 9.00 a.m. on Tuesday 9th September, with the Minister of Commerce presiding.

The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association, with the support of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, has organized this 54th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair. At the same time, the preparations for moving ahead with the Fair can be seen as an important occasion, where the government can help integrate, and solve taxation problems, for the industry.
