IGI to host the first ever mobile diamond jewellery testing laboratory in Bahrain at Jewellery Arabia 2014

For the first time ever in Bahrain, visitors to Jewellery Arabia 2014 can receive expert real-time advice on the quality and authenticity of their diamond jewellery from International Gemological Institute DMCC (IGI), the world's largest independent gem certification and appraisal institute for diamonds, coloured gemstones and jewellery. IGI will operate a mobile laboratory at Jewellery Arabia 2014 to give verbal consultations to consumers and retailers visiting the largest and most prestigious jewellery exhibition in the Middle East. The event, held under the Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, will run November 18-22 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Israel Diamond Exchange announces dates for February event at conclusion of Israel Diamond Week in New York

The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) announced recently that it will host the winter edition of the International Diamond Week February 8-12, 2015. "We have looked hard at the very busy calendar of the international diamond and jewelry trade and decided that these were the best dates for all parties involved for the Winter 2015 edition," IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer stated.

He made the announcement at the close of the Israel Diamond Week in New York, where a hundred Israeli and more than 70 American diamantaires had displayed their goods on the floor of the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) in New York City to some 700 visiting diamond buyers. More

WDC campaigns for strengthened Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, at 2014 KP Plenary Meeting in Guangzhou, November 11-14

The strengthening of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme stood atop the agenda of the delegation of the World Diamond Council, which joined representatives of governments from more than 50 countries and civil society NGOs at the four-day Kimberley Process Plenary Meeting, which concluded in Guangzhou, China, on November 14.
WDC President Edward Asscher headed the delegation of 12 diamond and jewelry industry representatives from around the world attending the 2014 KP Plenary Meeting.
Highlighted at the meeting was the Administration Support Mechanism (ASM), which is managed and financed on behalf of the Kimberley Process by WDC member organizations. More
