Recognising the importance of promoting the Antwerp diamond trade at a time when a global economic recovery appears to be starting, Antwerp World Diamond Centre will host the largest national pavilion ever of all the nations taking part in the September 21-25 Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair.

Visitors will discover more than 80 exhibitors in the pavilion demonstrating the wide variety of diamonds that can be bought in Antwerp.

Furthermore, AWDC will present award-winning jewellery from its 2009 HRD Awards collection. The theme of the awards, whose winners were announced in June, was "Once upon a time... my favourite fairytale", and attracted a wide range of entries from across the world. The specially constructed showcase will display the jewellery pieces made by 30 finalists, including the winner and four laureates.

Meanwhile, Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) will be handing out Belgian beer and chocolates to visitors. FIT partners with AWDC at the Hong Kong September show to promote trade in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium in which Antwerp is located.
